On Friday March 19th Action for Animals is partnering with Lazy Smurf and VegAustin to hold a vegan bake sale at Club Deville during the Brooklyn Vegan SXSW day party (see the listing in the Events section).
Bake sales are a great way to reach out to the community. We can show people that vegan baked goods are delicious and cruelty free. The money raised from the bake sale will be given to Food for Life Global - the world's largest vegan food relief organization. Plus bake sales are a fun way to try something new.
We need your help baking! If you can help please sign up on this sheet to let us know what you can bring. Since the bake sale is on a weekday we will work with you if you need help getting the items to us. Just let us know (send me a message or leave a comment below).
Remember that vegan baking uses no eggs, honey, dairy products and bone char sugar. If you need some inspiration a few of my favorite cookbooks are: The Joy of Vegan Baking, Vegan Cupcakes take over the world, and The 100 Best Vegan Baking Recipes.
If buying a new cookbook isn't in your budget right now check out these great online recipes: VegWeb, Compassion Over Killing Easy Vegan Recipes, VegCooking, and ChooseVeg. There are many more but these are a great start.

Sandwich bags and labels would be super helpful! I am not sure how to get them to us - you have any ideas? There will be a dropoff location on Friday AM (at 10) away from downtown - although not in Northwest Austin! :)
I have cookies. is there someone I can give them to for Friday? (I am in Northwest Austin). Also, should I put them in sandwich bags with labels? They are in a big frezzer bag now.

I can make something for you on Wednesday Daniela. Maybe I will make the margarita cupcakes for that day since they are green (well light green).

@DSylvan thanks so much for baking. Are you available to bring baked goods on Wednesday too by any chance? Our big bake sale is Friday but I am hoping to have some on Wednesday for our SXSW outreach table. Perhaps St. Patrick's Day themed?

Hi there - I signed up to bring cupcakes and pumpkin bread, but if there's something else you need more of (there seem to be a lot of cupcakes) please let me know and I'll be happy to do something else, or bring more. :)
