Well, I'm willing to drive, so if someone wants to get in with me, it would free up a space with Chris and Errol ;)

Our car is now full but if anyone else wants to volunteer to drive or needs a ride let us know.

That sounds great!!!  I'd like to reserve a seat.  I can meet you guys at your place.  Picnic lunch sounds awesome!!;)  Also, is somebody bringing a camera?  Would be awesome to take pics with the little guys ;)

Errol and I can drive and we can take 3 people.  How about if we leave at 1030-11am?  I can also bring food for a picnic lunch.  If anyone is interested in riding with us let me know and we will co-ordindate.

It looks like UV and others are leaving at 1 to get to the farm at probably 3 and leave at 5...my plan is to go earlier, so if whoever is planning to go, please let me know...thanks! ;)

Ugh.  That time won't work for the two little guys.  They still require naps and sleep between 22:30-4:30.  I think I will contact the farm and try to plan a trip next month.

Looks like they moved the time of the SDF visit to 1 PM to 5 PM.  In my opinion, that doesn't seem like a very long time to schmooze with the animals.  Thoughts?  Anyone want to go earlier?  And, I am assuming 1 PM is the time to arrive at the farm?

From THE UNIVERSITY VEGETARIANS:

The Sanctuary day is approaching and was wondering if you and/or a couple people from Action for Animals wanted to come to our meeting this Monday, March 22 and talk a little about your organization. You can build membership this way and maybe down the line both groups can do an event together. SACA (Students Against Cruelty to Animals), another student organization will be there too!

We can also discuss a good time frame that works for both organizations to visit the farm on Saturday along with the carpooling situation.

UV Meeting:
Monday, March 22nd
8:00pm
On UT campus
Benedict Hall (BEN 1.108) - in the six pack

Let me know if you would like to come to the meeting!

Thanks!

Neel

Great news.  I will try to attend the next meeting.

I think it would be totally cool...we will talk about this at our next core group meeting, but I'm sure it will be just fine ;)))

This sounds great.  I would love to bring our sons to this.  Do you think it will be okay for a 3 year old and 1 year old to come along with me?  Let me know.  They would really enjoy it.

Here's Neel's answers to the questions I asked him:

The purpose of the trip is to show the organization, the University Vegetarians, a good example of a farm sanctuary. So basically Brooke will give us and action for animals a tour and we may even volunteer some if there is time.

We chose 10am-5pm as a big time period because we were not exactly sure when during that time our members would be able to come. We just wanted a flexible time chunk and choose like 3-5 hours out of it. Next week, I will update the event to a confirmed time period. So keep checking the event page and update your group on any time changes. We are organizing carpooling within our organization. I am not sure how you all want to do it. We can even invite you and whoever else from action for animals to one of our meetings to discuss further carpooling.

Neel

I e-mailed a member of University Vegetarians to answer our questions posed at our AFA meeting, and will update here when I hear back.
